Our Lawyers

Sarah O'Leary practices union-side Workers' Compensation law, representing injured workers in British Columbia for 35 years.

Sarah started out at the Workers' Advisers Office representing injured workers for the Ministry of Labour. She  then spent 17 years representing workers at a healthcare union before joining Rush Crane Guenther where she practiced for 10 years. Most recently, Sarah has been in private practice in Vancouver at Harrison O'Leary LLP, and now,  O'Leary Law.

Sarah has taught Workers' Compensation law to unions for 35 years, including at Capilano College Labour Studies Program, the CLC Winter School for 24 years, through private law practice and, in recent years, with the Vancouver and District Labour Council.

Our Goal

At O'Leary Law we are committed to providing injured workers with the best representation to ensure that the workers’ compensation system delivers on its promise of a reliable safety net, whether it be wage loss benefits, medical care, or permanent disability pensions.

The compensation system is vast and complex. It can present insurmountable challenges to those who are ill or trying to recover from injury, and to union advocates trying to offer their membership sound guidance and appeal representation.

Representation and Education

We provide representation to unions wishing to support their members who have been injured or suffered occupational disease while at work. A vital key to assisting injured workers is educating those who represent them.

We believe we have an obligation to assist unions and injured worker advocates with the tools to fight the system, for the benefit of their members who cannot fight for themselves.
